4 options for charging
There are roughly 4 options for charging your company car (s):
Each of these options entails costs. But in addition to the energy cost, you also have to take the charging time into account. From a business point of view, it is not really interesting if you have to charge for hours and are therefore blocked.
How long do you have to charge?
In comparison with a simple socket, you can still count on at least 7 hours to charge your car. With a fast charging station this works in about a quarter hour. This should be enough to cover 100 km. If you opt for a public charging station, you should count on about 2.5 hours. From a business point of view, it can therefore be interesting to opt for a fast charging station and invest in it.
How much does a 100 km drive cost?
Assume that charging your car at work is the cheapest. As the manager of a company, you should be able to get much cheaper rates in collaboration with us than a private individual. Count on 2 euros per 100 km. Charging at home quickly comes to 3.4 euros. If you opt for a private charging station, you will pay around 6.30 euros, while charging at a fast charging station costs well over 10 euros. So if you charge your cars, at work you are cheaper than with diesel or petrol.
If you drive about 15,000 km per year, this will cost you around 510 euros extra in electricity. Energy prices fluctuate, but we ensure that you always have the cheapest price. The price will shoot up if you charge outside off-peak hours.
Consider a wallbox
Charging your car at a power outlet can be quite exciting and is only useful if you spend all day at the desk. A wallbox is a good alternative. This allows you to fully charge your car in about 8 hours. You also have heavier stations, but keep in mind that you may have to make your electrical installation heavier. This way, the costs can start to add up.
